People applying for business permits in Quezon City were surprised to find that registering a new business only takes less than an hour. With the new concierge services of the QC Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), getting a business permit is a simple 3-step process.
The Quezon City Government introduced the concierge service at BPLO’s Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS), offering the public the convenience of having their applications processed simultaneously by evaluators of the BPLO, the Zoning Official and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

On January 12, Benjie and Michelle Villarente went to BPLO, not knowing how to proceed with their application. They plan to start a business engaged in plumbing services. They had with them all the necessary documents.
At the BPLO, the couple were ushered to the BOSS where other business owners were lined up to apply for the registration of their new business.
Benjie presented the complete requirements and the accomplished application form for assessment. The documents were then processed by evaluators of the BPLO, the Zoning Official and the Bureau of Fire Protection. After payment, he was told to wait for the release of the document.
Benjie and Michelle were surprised to find that in less than an hour, their small company has been registered and they have the permit in hand.
“Mabilis lang pala. Akala naming maraming gagawin. Masaya nga ako e. Madali kaming nakatapos,” Michelle commented.
According to Benjie, he has been working as plumber for various companies and he decided to start his own business because he wants to have more time for his family.Benjie Villarente was one of those who benefit from the convenience of BPLO’s new concierge service.
Some business owners praised the fast and efficient process. “Maganda ngayon at mabilis na,” said Kathy Lamanilao from Laguna, who relocated to Fairview where she put up a store selling beauty products.
Quennie O. of Barangay Quirino, owner of a new laundry service shop and J. Maranon of Barangay Pinyahan, an apartment owner, also have praises for the simplified three-step process for registration of new businesses.
According to BPLO, they process an average of 35 to 40 applications a day and the peak days of applications are from Monday to Thursday.
Quezon City, the top city in the country in terms of number of business establishments, currently has more than 70,000 registered businesses.
