The recording in the corresponding register of birth, death marriage, court decree and other legal instrument affecting the civil status of a person is the responsibility of the local registrar of the place where the event occurred or where the decree was issued.

Objectives:

To be responsive to the legal instrumentalities needed/ applied by constituents/ petitioners.

To be effective in transmitting copies of legal instruments to the National Statistics Office and Civil Registrar General.

To be transparent in our dealings and transactions. We maintain the policy of "no payment, no issuance".

To be accountable and responsible to whatever registrable instrument/ documents this department issues to the public.

To upgrade the quality of services of city-owned public cemeteries, namely Bagbag, Baesa and Novaliches.

Petition for Clerical/ Typographical Error- committed in the performance of clerical work for the birth, marriage and death certificates reflecting civil personality of an individual, like spelling, displacement of words, maiden name of mother, date and Place of marriage of parents and other errors not included are errors on nationality, age, civil status and sex of the petitioners.

Petition for Change of First Name- pertains not only to change of first name but also the deletion of a first name to those having two first names or an addition of another first name to those deserving to have two first names.

Act allowing illegitimate children to use the surname of their father.

There are sixteen (16) service windows open to the public Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. No lunch break, however, all windows are closed during break time from 10:00- 10:15 am and from 3:00-3:15 pm. Windows are designated as follows:
