The Quezon City Government sought to provide further business convenience by integrating its mandated inspection services through a new Special Assessment Task Force. The members of the Task Force were introduced to the business community last April 3, 2012 at Quezon City Hall's Bulwagang Amoranto. This is part of the reforms to promote ease of doing business in the city.

taskforceimg204The Task Force, headed by City Administrator Victor Endriga, is composed of representatives from the following operating units of the QC local government:

  • Building Permits and Licensing Office
  • City Treasurer's Office
  • City Assessor's Office
  • City Building Official
  • City Health Department
  • Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department
  • Fire Department

The teams are assigned to specific clusters of barangays in each of the four districts of Quezon City. They are assigned to ensure compliance of establishments with:

  • Revenue disclosures and requirements
  • Business permit requirements
  • Sanitation laws
  • Building code compliance
  • Fire safety compliance
  • Compliance with environmental laws.

The objectives are to ensure compliance with laws, while promoting public welfare through reduced safety, health and environmental risks.

taskforceimg235Organizing the various operating units in an integrated cluster will reduce the number of inspections that a business establishment will have to contend with each year. Each member of the inspection team will bear the proper identification and authorization from the city government, to prevent unscrupulous practices. Task Force head Endriga also encouraged business owners and managers to report to him any problems, issues or concerns they may have which are related to these inspections. He even offered his cellphone number as a hotline (09209555444). The Task Force Office is on the second floor, Quezon City Hall High-rise Building.

The Task Force will begin their work on April 10, 2012, by issuing notices of inspection to various establishments, which will give these businesses time to prepare the necessary documents needed to be reviewed by the inspectors.

taskforceimg244The members of the Task Force will be evaluated regularly, in terms of performance. Under-performers will be replaced.
