Best QC Barangays Honored at the 4th Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping Award

More than 50 barangays received various awards for best practices and for their achievements in governance at the grassroots level during the 4th Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping Award held at Novotel on October 3, 2018.

DILG Assistant Secretary for Barangay Affairs Rosque Calacat and DILG QC director Atty. Ana Lyn Baltazar-Cortez both commended the City Government for initiating the program, which is the local version of the DILG Seal of Good Governance. The two DILG officials also noted that the QC Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping is worthy of being replicated by other LGUs in the country.

Barangay Greater Lagro is this year’s recipient of the Dangal ng Lungsod-Hall of Fame award after winning the Dangal ng Lungsod for three consecutive years. The award came with PhP 5 million incentive for development project.

Barangays Commonwealth, Kaligayahan and San Bartolome received the Dangal ng Lungsod Award while seven barangays were conferred the Gawad sa Huwarang Pamamahala award. They are Barangay Damar, Barangay Talayan, Barangay Batasan Hills, Barangay Bagumbayan, Barangay UP Campus, Barangay Novaliches Proper and Barangay Sangandaan.

Barangay San Bartolome took the 1st place in the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award, followed by Barangay Batasan Hills (2nd place) and Barangay Greater Lagro.

Three barangays also received recognition for having the Most Functional Barangay-based Institution. They are Barangay Matandang Balara, Barangay Paligsahan and Barangay Culiat.

Special awards were also given to recognize best practices in some barangays. Eight barangays received awards for their Best Practices and Innovation while ten barangays were cited for Good Financial Housekeeping. A total of 28 barangays were also recognized for their good Legislative Practices.
